Benefits of a Postpartum Doula

“A postpartum doula is there to help a new family in those first days and weeks after bringing home a new baby. Research shows that moms, dads, and babies have an easier time with this transition if a good support team is in place.”

American Pregnancy Association

“A postpartum doula is a professional support person who’s trained to help not only the baby, but the family as well, in the days or months after birth.”

Aliza Bancoff, a birth and postpartum doula in Philadelphia and Founder of The International Doula Institute

“A postpartum doula can be a huge help during those first few weeks with a newborn, offering breastfeeding support, overnight assistance and more.”

TodaysParent.com

“In the first few days that moms are at home, all the attention is often on the new baby – which is important and necessary! However, because dads often return to work immediately (or don’t take any time off at all) this often results in moms getting little to no postpartum support. Ultimately, moms suffer because of it. In fact, the whole family does. That’s why the support of a postpartum doula can be invaluable….”
